Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Junction City, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Boyle County Fiscal Court is currently seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from Design-Build teams interested in designing and constructing a new all-weather bike park and ancillary facilities to be located at Alum Springs 775 Yates Road, Danville, Kentucky (the "Project"). This Project will incorporate multiple bicycling and hiking features and be a unique recreational facility in Central Kentucky. Project to include park design, construction and construction supervision, logo development and signage, facility materials and equipment for a mountain bike and hiking trail system in Boyle County. Plan should be developed so that it can be completed in multiple phases. Direct questions regarding this request for SOQ can be sent to Julie Wagner, County Administrator, via email at julie.wagner@boylecountyky.gov or 859-238-1100 ext 120. The Project will be located on 83 acres of County/City-owned property that is a closed landfill site (see attached map). The landfill area has been abandoned and was capped with 30 feet of dirt in accordance with the EPA standards over 25 years ago. However, there are restrictions on the excavation activity that can occur on the property. Fill material will be brought on site to raise the elevation and provide "mounding", but excavation will be limited, if not completely prohibited in some areas. The Project should be designed to serve a wide range of users, from families with small children to competition level cyclists. Proposals should include construction of bike features, site work, and trail development. Parking lot construction, sanitary facilities, signage, and landscaping will be performed by others outside of the scope of this contract. All Project features should be constructed in a manner that minimizes future maintenance requirements. Consideration should be given to utilization of proper soil for trails and other features, proper design and grading, proper comp action, and proper drainage. The successful design-build team must provide evidence of thorough knowledge and experience in this area and provide a project history that supports this. Knowledge and experience working with Lidar is a plus. The project is located on a capped landfill, therefore all trails within the park, preservation of the existing features is a priority, and an environmentally conscious design and build is expected. Throughout the entire build the County expects the selected contractor to use best practices and follow the International Mountain Bicycling Association guidelines (IMBA) and be familiar with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) standards. Phase I Completion Date: October 1, 2026
