Village District of Eastman (Owner) Sealed bids for construction of West Cove A Water Main Improvements for the Village District of Eastman The scope of work for the base bid includes the replacement of 61 water services on Bay Tree Lane, Old Beach Circle, and College Overlook. This work shall also consist of removing and replacing up to 475 linear feet of the existing PVC water main to facilitate the replacement of the water services, water service pipe saddles, corporation stops, service pipe, and curb stops. Water main replacement shall include all fittings required to provide connection of new water main to existing. Base bid work shall also include the installation of three (3) gate valves, three (3) flushing hydrants, temporary water system, and gravel roadway rehabilitation. The scope of work for Bid Alternate No. 1 includes removal and replacement of the remaining water system on Bay Tree Lane, Old Beach Circle, and College Overlook. This shall consist of installation of approximately 1,425 linear feet of 4-inch PVC water main, fittings. Work also includes connection to existing asbestos cement (AC) water mains via tapping sleeve and valve assembly at two (2) locations, installation of five (5) gate valves, maintenance of traffic, and roadway rehabilitation including asphalt pavement and gravel road repair. Construction for the Base Bid and/or Base Bid plus Bid Alternate No. 1 shall not begin prior to Labor Day, September 1, 2025. 1. Completion time for the base bid project shall be as follows if accepted by Owner: Substantial Completion: November 21, 2025 Final Completion: June 5, 2026 The Bidder further agrees to pay liquidated damages in the amount of $1,300.00 for each milestone, for each consecutive calendar day that the work has not been completed. Definition of milestones provided in Section 01014 SCOPE AND SEQUENCE OF WORK. No Bidder may withdraw a Bid within 30 days after the actual date of opening thereof. The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00700 GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications. Any request for interpretation of plans and specifications may be submitted in writing at that time. Bidders will have an opportunity to view the site of the work following the Prebid Conference. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids and to reject any or all bids.
