Idaho County will accept sealed bids for approximately 165.2 acres of mechanical fuel reduction on the Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest. Treatments will include mechanical mastication using excavator/ground-based machines with masticating cutting head and hand cutting of vegetation. Treatments are two separate projects. South Township Mastication project is located South of Elk City, Idaho off the Forgotten 400 Rd. (130 acres.) Red Seigel Project is located South of Elk City, Idaho in the vicinity of French Gulch along Rds. 222, 1182 and 9822. (35.2 acres.) Consideration will be given to the employment of local area residents. Employees from Idaho, Lewis and Clearwater County are acceptable. The Board of Idaho County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids, portions or parts thereof.
