This work consists of excavating an exploratory trench, exposing existing utilities, verifying the condition, size, material, alignment, and elevation of the existing utilities, and backfilling the trench. Perform all work according to the Michigan Department of Transportation 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction, as specified herein, and as directed by the Engineer. Construct an aggregate base course on a prepared subbase or subgrade as shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer. The aggregate base course shall be in accordance with sections 302 and 902 of the MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction, except as specified herein.
