Renovation of an educational facility in Hamilton Sq, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project is awarded to VA Electrical Contractor, LLC but the awarded amount is not aailable. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Schools Development Authority ("NJSDA") as stated in the Contract Documents, prior to the date bids are received. All bidders, their subcontractors, and their sub-subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. indicating compliance with the Act for work subject to the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.) Contractors should submit copies of their certificate of registration with their bid and should also include copies of the certificates for each named subcontractor listed in its bid form with its bid. Sub-subcontractor certificates must be submitted prior to the sub-subcontractor providing goods or services on this Project. The Bid must contain a Bid Security in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the Bid Price, not to exceed Twenty Thousand ($20,000.00) Dollars, and Consent of surety, each in the form and manner required by the Contract Documents. No oral or other communications during the bidding process shall bind the Board except as shall be contained in a written Addendum which the Board may, in its sole discretion, issue in accordance with Applicable Law. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31, et seq., and N.J.A.C. 17:27. It is the sole responsibility of the Bidder to ensure timely receipt of its Bid by the Board, at the place designated for opening of bids. The Board assumes no responsibility whatsoever in connection with any defects arising out of the issuance of the Contract Documents or its failure to receive Bids at the time and place required and those which may arise from delay for any reason in obtaining the Contract Documents or in the submission of a Bid, including, but not limited to, delays or failures of receipt caused by traffic delay, errors by messengers, mis-labeling, mis-direction from any source including the Board's personnel, mis-delivery by common carrier, or any other reason. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening date. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or to waive any informality in the bidding, as permitted by law, if it is in the interest of the Board to do so. When it is in its best interest to do so and to the maximum extent of its discretion under applicable law, the Board may award the Contract in whole or in part, select any combination of Bids and alternates, may waive any informalities, and may reject any or all Bids. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. Should any error, omission, inconsistencies or obscure wording appear or occur in the Drawings and Specifications, or should there by any discrepancies between Drawings and Specifications, the bidder shall, before submitting his bid, apply to the Architect in writing to DIGroupArchitecture, 15 Bethany Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 for an interpretation and determination of the intent of the Drawings and Specifications. Requests for such interpretations, to be given consideration, must be received at least ten (10) business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. The Work consists of replacing the existing fire alarm system with a new microprocessor based digital, addressable voice evacuation fire alarm system including fire alarm control panel with voice command and communication, annunciators, manual stations, detectors, signal equipment, controls and devices. b. Existing fire alarm system to remain operational until new fire system has been installed, tested and accepted by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. Only then can the existing system be decommissioned, removed and dispo sed of. c. Where existing devices and surface-mounted conduit are permanently removed or relocated, patch and repair affected surfaces and pr ovide a new paint finish to match the adjacent existing finish in color, texture, and sheen.
