The Project includes, but is not limited to, performing the following Work: Furnishing all labor, tools, equipment, materials, except as herein specified; and doing all work associated with the Safe Routes to School Project. This Project is situated on the following City street intersections: o Third Street and Brush Street o Buena Vista Avenue and Versailles Avenue o Lincoln Avenue and Gibbons Drive o Lincoln Avenue and Chestnut Street o Lincoln Avenue and Willow Street o Lincoln Avenue and Pearl Street o Buena Vista Avenue and Poggi Street o Buena Vista Avenue and Versailles Avenue o Buena Vista Avenue and Cambridge Drive/Northwood Drive o Central Avenue and Benton Street o Taylor Avenue and 8 th Street o Taylor Avenue and 9 th Street o Santa Clara Avenue and 9 th Street o Packet Landing Road and Brittany Drive There will be no prebid meeting for this Project. The Contractor shall begin Work no later than five working days following the start date specified in the Notice to Proceed, which may be hand delivered or sent by email. The Contractor shall complete all Work on the Project within 45 Working days after the above start date. As per PCC section 20170, all bids shall be submitted under seal and accompanied by cash, a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, a cashier's check, or certified check payable to the City of Alameda in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid (PCC 20171). Upon award of the contract, the successful Bidder shall furnish a bond for faithful performance in the amount of 100% of the total bid plus construction contingency. The successful Bidder shall also furnish a bond to secure the payment of all claims for labor and material in the amount of 100% of the total bid plus construction contingency. Further, the successful Bidder, and all subcontractors, shall pay for and obtain a City of Alameda Business License. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids; to waive minor defects or technicalities; or to solicit new bids.
