Site work for a civil project in San Rafael, California. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and road / highway.

Improvements for this project will generally include installing a new soldier pile wall to restore support to the roadway. Work will also include grading of the Nicasio Creek bank below, a new guardrail and rehabilitation of the adjacent underground culvert that crosses below Lucas Valley Road. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" License at time of bid submittal. To bid on this Project, the Bidder and all subcontractors are required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to the Labor Code. The Bidder's and all subcontractors' registration must remain active throughout the term of the Contract. A Bid Bond, cash, certified check, or cashier's check, in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin shall accompany the Proposal. Award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with prescribed requirements, and is anticipated to be approved by the Board of Supervisors on August 19, 2025 and the Notice of Award sent out by August 20, 2025. At the successful Contractor's option, securities may be substituted for the required retention, in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the State of California Public Contract Code. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Sections 7201 and 9203, the County of Marin shall retain 5 percent of the contract price until final completion and acceptance of the project. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037. Bidder must visit the work site before submitting a bid. Bidder shall thoroughly investigate the conditions which will be encountered in the project including, but not limited to, existing underground and overhead utilities, steep terrain, road width, space needed to flag traffic, riprap, drilling conditions, staging and site access challenges. This contract is subject to state contract non-discrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. TIME LIMIT AND LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: -From the date of emailing of written notification by the Department of Public Works that the contract has been awarded, the Contractor must execute the necessary contract documents and return them to the Department of Public Works within ten (10) calendar days. All work shall be completed within forty (40) working days. Working days shall be defined as a calendar day with a 7-day work week. All work in the creek below top of bank and in the culvert shall be completed by October 15, 2025. Question Deadline 07/14/2025 at 5:00 PM PT - Questions concerning the Bid should be submitted via online. Inquiries or questions based on alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications or estimate must be communicated as a bidder inquiry prior to bid opening. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and the right to waive any irregularities.
