Site work for a mixed-use development in Thornton, Colorado. Working plans call for site work for a retail development; and water / sewer project.
**The owner has determined a prequalified list of general contractors. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The anticipated work to be bid under the Shopping Center Remediation Excavation, Project No. 22-123 consists of the removal of building foundations, stormwater management, sanitary sewer removal, excavation, treatment, and off-site disposal of 10,000 cubic yards or more of known or potentially hazardous and non-hazardous contaminated soil, debris, and bedrock from depths of up to 24 feet, construction dewatering of contaminated groundwater, and site reclamation in accordance with applicable regulations. The anticipated Scope of the Shopping Center Remediation Excavation, Project No. 22-123A includes, but is not limited to the following: o Provide all necessary labor, equipment, and supplies for all site work described or inferred to herein; o Provide site safety and security for the duration of the Project; o Develop, permit, and maintain stormwater controls for the Project for the duration of the Project, if needed; o Concrete foundation removal; o Asphalt and concrete flatwork removal; o Excavation and proper disposal of soil and sandstone/claystone bedrock impacted by perchloroethylene (PCE) and its degradation products by OSHA HAZWOPERcertified personnel as targeted excavations and mass excavations; o Rock crushing, soil mixing, transportation and disposal capacities; o Construction excavation dewatering under state remediation permits; o Staging and on-site movement of contaminated soils; o Provide surveying capabilities for quantification of excavation volumes; o Remove subsurface, abandoned water and sewer utilities; o Provide mixing capabilities for soil treatment such as tilling machinery; o Backfill operations to include soil mixing, import of soils, compaction to specifications; and o Minor piping infrastructure construction. Additional desired capacities from prequalified firms may include, but are not expected to be included in the above referenced Work Scope, include but are not limited to: o Abatement of asbestos-containing materials coating on concrete foundations; It is anticipated that formal bids for the Project, along with bidding documents, will be requested in September 1, 2025. It is anticipated that bids will be received four (4) to six (6) weeks after the bid documents are released. Bid date description: SOQ is sent by U.S. mail or courier service, the SOQ shall be contained in a sealed inner envelope or box, which is then inserted into the mailing envelope or box. Indicate "SOQ Enclosed, Notice of Request for Contractor Qualifications, Project No. 22-123A", on the outside of the mailing envelope or box. SOQ's submitted electronically shall be uploaded to electronically. Note: Late SOQ's will not be accepted under any circumstances. Vendors electing to submit their bid via mail or courier service accept all responsibility for delivery to the Contract Administration Office by the bid closing time indicated. Thornton is not responsible for lost or late delivery of bid proposals.
