The well site, located in Franklin County on Tax Parcel #0030101400 (adjacent Hickory Place), has been approved by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). The location of the well should be in the northwestern corner of the lot. The purpose of the well is to provide additional potable drinking water supply for the Walnut Run subdivision. There will be no PRE-BID for this project. General Scope of Work The selected well drilling firm (CONTRACTOR) shall furnish all necessary labor, equipment and materials to complete the following scope of work: o Drilling and installation of one 6-inch Class IIB public water supply wells o Well Development o Well Disinfection o Temporary Pump Installation and Rental o Well Yield Testing o Water Quality Testing o Site Restoration The CONTRACTOR shall furnish all necessary labor, equipment and materials to drill, sample, install and test public water supply wells at locations designated by the OWNER or its representative. The wells shall be completed into the bedrock using standard air-rotary drilling methods. The well shall be drilled to a minimum depth of 350 feet and constructed with grouted well casing set to a minimum depth of 50 feet and open rock hole below the depth of the well casing to the bottom of the hole. Well yield and water quality testing shall include installation of a temporary submersible pump and generator, completion of a well yield and drawdown test in accordance with VDH requirements. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish the labor, equipment and materials necessary to conduct the hydraulic testing of the wells. Note that the labor and equipment for supervising the aquifer tests, fueling the generator, monitoring water levels and collecting water quality samples will optionally be conducted by the OWNER. The above scope of work is subject to change. The OWNER reserves the right to adjust the actual drilling depths, number of wells and length of testing from that proposed above.
