Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Roanoke, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Replacement of the existing bridge timber deck with concrete planks, anchor bolts, cracked weld repairs, and associated work. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be directed to Stanley Wells, Senior Buyer via email at stanley.wells@roanokeva.gov. All questions must be submitted before 2:00 p.m. on July 14, 2025. Questions received after 2:00 p.m. on July 14, 2025, may not be answered. The project includes complete replacement of the existing bridge deck. Replacement of the deck includes removal of the existing timber deck, installation of concrete planks, replace girder anchor bolts, repair cracked handrail post, and associated work. The bridge is approximately 314'-9" long and 14'- 4" wide. This short description, however, shall not, in any way, be construed to limit the Contractor's obligation for compliance with the contract documents. Unless specified otherwise the Work shall be in accordance with the 2020 Virginia Department of Transportation Road and Bridge Specifications (VDOT RBS) The pedestrian bridge is located on 1st Street between Centre Avenue NW and Salem Avenue SW in the City of Roanoke. The bridge spans over Shenandoah Avenue, Norfolk Southern Railway tracks, Amtrak platform, and Norfolk Avenue.
