SCOPE This work shall consist of maintaining two-way through and local traffic at all times, except as provided herein or in other contract documents. It shall consist of constructing, maintaining in good condition, and removing temporary structures, approach roads, and other facilities required for maintenance of traffic and the furnishing of temporary materials therefor, unless otherwise indicated in the contract. This work shall include furnishing, erecting, maintaining in good condition, and removing all required construction signs, barricades, and temporary traffic stripe. The Contractor shall provide, erect, and maintain all necessary barricades, suitable and sufficient lights, danger signals, signs, and other traffic control devices; shall provide qualified flagmen where necessary to direct the traffic; and shall take all necessary precautions for the protection of the work and the safety of the public. Roads or parts of the work closed to through traffic shall be protected by effective barricades and obstructions shall be illuminated during hours of darkness. Suitable warning signs shall be provided to properly control and direct traffic.
