Renovation of a residential development in North Waltham, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
Bids from Contractors for installation of Plumbing vent piping Friction Clamps on cast iron Plumbing vent pipes at joint between PVC vent pipe to Cast iron pipe in the attic at State Aided Development: Chesterbrook Gardens (200-2) in Waltham, Mas-sachusetts, in accordance with the Instructions of Product Manufacturer. The Project consists of but not limited to: Installation of 50 approximately 4.5 Inch on of 50 approximately 4inch diameter or equivalent support Friction clamps at the transition from PVC to Cast. Iron venting pipe. This is to eliminate or re-duce the weight of cast pipe cracking PVC below and TYs connections farther down. The transition area is located inside the at tic above one unit in the back-to-back 2nd floor bathrooms. Access is gained by a at-tic scuttle door and a portable ladder is re-quired. The majority of Cast vent pipes can be supported using a riser clamp and some others need minor, bracing with 2x4 while others might need Unistruts brackets. ith 2x4's Bids are subject to M. G.L. c. 149 544A-3 & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c. 149 26 to 27H inclusive. General bids and sub-bids shall be accom-panied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) o) of of the the greatest possible bid amount (including all alternates) and made payable to the WALTHAM HOUSING AUTHORITY, Note: A bid deposit is not required for Projects advertised under $50,000. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO). The combined participation bench-mark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final contract price including accepted alternates. Request for waivers must be sent to EOHLC (Chad. How-ard@mass.gov) 5 calendar days prior to the General Bid date. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO). The combined participation bench-mark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final cont including accepted alternates, Request for waivers must be sent to EOHLC (Chad, How-ard@mass.gov) 5 calendar days prior to the General Bid date. NO WAIVERS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THE GENERAL BIDS ARE OPENED 3% of the final contract price The Contractor and all subcontractors (collectively referred to as the Contrac tor") agree to strive to achieve minority and women workforce participation. The Workforce Participation benchmark is set at 6.9% for women and 15.3% for minorities. The Workforce benchmark percentages are a statutory requirement under MGL c. 149 $ 44A(2)(G)
