Renovation of a municipal facility in New Rochelle, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
5812 Rehabilitation of Two Concrete Stairwells at City Hall. The City of New Rochelle is seeking bids from qualified vendors to Rehabilitate two (2) Concrete Stairwells at New Rochelle located at 515 North Avenue here in New Rochelle, New York. Please see Exhibit E for photos of existing conditions. All work shall be completed no later than 30 days from full contract execution. The Scope of Work consists of the following: 1.1. Stairwell No. 1 - Employee Entrance 1.1.1. Removal and Disposal of Existing Handrails and Railings (Approximately 25 LF) 1.1.2. Concrete Surface Preparation 1.1.2.1. Area to be repaired must be clean, sound, and free of contaminants. All loose and deteriorated concrete shall be removed by mechanical means. Mechanically prepare concrete substrate to obtain a surface profile of _ 1/8" (CSP 6 or greater as per ICRI Guidelines) with a new exposed aggregate surface. Area to be patched shall not be less than 1/4" in depth. 1.1.2.2. Where reinforcing steel with active corrosion is encountered, sandblast the steel to a white metal finish to remove all contaminants and rust. Where corrosion has occurred due to the presence of chlorides, the steel shall be high pressure washed after mechanical cleaning. Prime steel with 2 coats of Sika_ Armatec_ 110 EpoCem as per the Product Data Sheet (PDS) or comparable product. 1.1.3. Application of Professional-grade High-strength Adhesive and Mortar 1.1.3.1. Install _" to 2/3" Type S mortar mix that achieves compressive strength of over 1,800 psi and high-tensile bond strength. 1.1.4. Furnish and Install the following over the existing and prepared concrete steps per industry standards: 1.1.4.1. 1.1.4.2. 1.1.4.3. 1.1.4.4. 1.1.4.5. 1.1.4.6. 1.1.4.7. 1.1.4.8. 1.1.4.9. 12" x 2" Bluestone treads (8) x 13'-4" each +/- 108 LF of granite cobblestones for risers ( 10" x 7" x 4") 12" x 2" Bluestone edger on platform +/- 22 LF _" bluestone flagstone 3'-6" x 12'-0" SF 1 _" ID Galvanized 2-line railing w/ posts 8 LF 1 _" ID galvanized handrail 1-line w/ posts 22 LF Repoint existing brick joints 15 SF Joint grouting and sealing. Edge finishing. 1.1.5. Clean up of work area. 1.2. Stairwell No. 2 - Council Conference Room Exit 1.2.1. Removal and Disposal of Existing Handrails and Railings (Approximately 32 LF) 1.2.2. Concrete Surface Preparation 1.2.2.1. Area to be repaired must be clean, sound, and free of contaminants. All loose and deteriorated concrete shall be removed by mechanical means. Mechanically prepare concrete substrate to obtain a surface profile of _ 1/8" (CSP 6 or greater as 5812-6 per ICRI Guidelines) with a new exposed aggregate surface. Area to be patched shall not be less than 1/4" in depth. 1.2.2.2. Where reinforcing steel with active corrosion is encountered, sandblast the steel to a white metal finish to remove all contaminants and rust. Clean up of work area. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, tools, methods, and any additional items necessary to complete the work as required by the Owner for this construction contract. Contractor shall carefully field measure and check all areas designated. Request for compensation will not be approved for measurement or take-off errors by the Contractor. Contractor shall be required to provide and install all necessary protective measures for work area and any other area impacted by construction including surrounding sidewalks.
