The selected Proposer shall provide all labor, tools, parts, materials and all incidentals require and/or implied for the complete and satisfactory elevator including the interior cab. This will also include removal and disposal of equipment and debris from the premises, the supply and installation of new elevator components, updates required in the elevator mechanical room per the Code as mandated by the Commonwealth of Virginia, Information Technology (IT) requirements, and all other work necessary to provide a fully functional and safe State of Virginia certified elevator The County and the Contractor agree that as reasonable liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty), Contractor shall pay the County $200.00 for each day that expires after the time specified in Article 2.1 until the Work is substantially complete. After substantial completion, if Contractor shall neglect, refuse, or fail to complete the remaining Work within the Contract dates or any proper extension thereof granted by the County, Contractor shall pay the County $200.00 for each day that expires after the time specified in Article 2.1 for completion and readiness for final payment until the Work is completed and ready for final payment. All proposers must have a current Class A contractor's license in the name of the company or one of its officers, issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia to do business in the State of Virginia. A photocopy of current Class A contractor's license must be attached behind the State Corporation Commission Form (Appendix B) to receive consideration. The selected Proposer shall submit a Performance Bond, Attachment D and Payment Bond, Attachment E, in the sum of the contracted amount within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award. Construction Contracts in excess of $25,000 shall be accompanied by a bid bond from a surety company selected by the offeror which is legally authorized to do business in Virginia. The amount of the bid bond shall not exceed five percent (5%) of the amount bid. The County of Rockbridge is requesting electronic sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the modernization of an existing elevator and related components, and to secure a preventative maintenance, to include on-call, contract in the Rockbridge County Administration Building.
