Midway Corridor Modernization Engineering and Design. The Midway Room is a 1 0,000 sq. foot secondary Arena utilized for entertainment, theatre, corporate, social, religious, educational, government and recreational events. The Midway Room and Stand 5 catering kitchen are part of the original build from 1 980. The rooms throughout this space are aged and need of modernization. In FY26, the County would hire an engineer to create concept designs, drawings, and budget estimates for remodeling the Midway Arena and Stand 5 kitchen, revisiting the footprint of the entire space and refinishing the stage including evaluation of storage capabilities. Projects to be considered in the Stand 5 catering kitchen would include: dropping the sprinkler system piping, repairing the ceiling tile grid and replacing floor tiles with tiles conducive to a commercial kitchen operation. The plan would be to undertake work in FY28. The work has been postponed a year due to funding constraints, primarily due to Fruitland Primary. As of July 28, 2025, this project is included in the County 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
