The Project to be bid on is as follows: The City of Chattanooga is seeking bids for the upgrade of the Moccasin Bend Environmental Campus (MBEC) through the implementation of a new Reclaimed Water Pump Station (RWPS). The project, funded by the American Rescue Plan(ARP), will upgrade the existing Plant Water Pump Station with new equipment and systems. Scope of Work Pump Replacement: Remove existing pumps and install two new dry pit submersible pumps, each rated at 1,500 gallons per minute (gpm). Strainer Upgrade: Install one new vertical automatic backwashing strainer in the basement with the pumps. Electrical Systems: Provide and install new electrical equipment in existing building, including panelboards, variable frequency drives(VFDs), and a transformer. HVAC Improvements: Install new exhaust fans, air conditioning for the electrical room, and an air scrubber system to meet specified temperature and ventilation requirements. Instrumentation and Controls: Provide, install, and integrate new instrumentation and a new Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) system with the existing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to monitorand control the pump station. Piping Systems: Install new piping designed for reclaimed water service. Construction Approach The reclaimed water pump station shall remain in service through out the Work. Work will need to be phased to maintain partial operation of the pump station or temporary bypass pumping employed. The Project allotted time for constructionis: 366 Days Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, prepared on the form of Bid Bond attached to the Contract Documents or a Surety Companys Standard Bid Bond,duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Tennessee and listed as a certified company in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, in the amount of five percent of the Bid The successful Bidder for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the Bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and to readvertise.
