Site work for a water / sewer project in Fall River, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work consists of furnishing all labor, material and equipment for the installation of 1.5 to-3-foot armor stone at the revetment along Northfield Point with reuse of existing stone to the extent practicable. The approximate overall length of revetment is 1,200 feet. Work also includes furnishing and installing turbidity curtain, erosion controls and restoration of areas disturbed by the work. All work shall be in accordance with project permits issued by the Fall River Conservation Commission, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and the Army Corps of Engineers. All questions must be submitted in writing via email to Wiiliam McGrath, PE. BETA Group, Inc. at BMcGrath@BETA-Inc.com by 4:00 pm on August 13, 2025. Responses will be in the form of an addendum issued to all plan holders on file by 12 pm on August 18, 2025. The Fall River Redevelopment Authority intends to award a contract within thirty (30) days of bid opening. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit equal to (5%) of the total amount of the bid. The bid deposit may be in the form of treasurers' check, certified check, bid bond, or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Fall River Redevelopment Authority. The project area consists of the northern portion of a 5.9-acre parcel located off Davol Street and adjacent to the Senator Thomas Norton City Pier, the Taunton River and the Point Gloria Condominiums. Northfield Point has an area of approximately 1 acre and is located north of City Pier and west of the Bicentennial Park Trail. Northfield Point consists of a peninsula that is fenced off to the public with a chain link fence. Vegetation management to remove certain invasive and nuisance plants from the Northfield Point area is scheduled for August through September 2025. The Lump Sum price paid for this item shall include full compensation for all labor, equipment, materials and incidentals needed to complete the following: a. Initiating and administering the contract, including but not limited to furnishing performance and payment bonds and all other securities and insurances required, project meetings, securing of all necessary permits, etc., for providing all other materials, supplies, tools, equipment, labor, financing, supervision, temporary structures, and any and all other administrative expenses incurred in carrying out the Work and furnishing the materials, keeping records and preparing required reports, permitting, the work, and assuming risks, which have not been included in the prices in other items of the Bid Proposal; b. Costs, exclusive of the cost of materials, for mobilizing all machinery, tools, and other equipment necessary to carry on and complete the Work. c. Costs for preparing shop drawings and submittals. d. Costs for maintaining and updating the project schedule for submission to and approval by the Owner. e. Operational costs related to the Work contained within this contract. f. Costs for demobilizing and removing equipment at the completion of the project.
