The work hours would be from 7am until dusk, no night work The manhole differs in sizes that need to be manually adjusted o Multiple manholes cover may need replacing forthe correct size o Mill and overly any manholes cover that need manual adjusting o Multiple manholes cover milled and manually adjusted flush with the roadway AU materials shall be new, free from defects, and shall be in accordance with the requirements of this bid scope. B. Manhole inserts and components shall be manufactured of materials resistant to corrosion from atmosphere conditions and general road hazards from chemicals and other agents. C. Specifications cover general testing procedures, certifications from material acceptance, and quality standards for products and materials to be supplied under this contract .Castings: a. Castings shall confirm to the requirements ofASIN A48, Class 30 b. Castings are to be even grained and free from unsightly defects c. All bearing surfaces shall be machined to ensure a uniform bearing in all positions d. Castings shall conform to the requirements of the PFM or other details provided by the City of Portsmouth e. Castings shall be finished with a minimum of one 0) coat (which shall be two (2} millimeters thick) of bituminous asphaltic coatings. f. Dust covers shall not be installed inside manhole castings and will not be permitted by the City, g* E. Manhole Inserts; Inserts Shall 1. Be manufactured by Rainstopper or approved alternative manufacturer, which approval shall be made by the City in its sole discretion. 2. Be manufactured of materials resistant to corrosion, including corrosion from hydrogen sulfide and dilute sulfuric acid. 3. Be manufactured of not less than 18 gauge 304 stainless steel with a straight side design to allow for easy installation and removal. 4. Have a load test failure in excess of 3,000 pounds. 5. Be sized to be installed under the manhole lid 6. Have a gasket around the lip made of close cell neoprene and a pressure sensitive adhesive one(1) side and installed by the manufacturer. 7. Be compatible with the insert material to form a long-lasting bond in any conditions especially when the conditions are wet. 8. Be equipped with a gas relief valve designed to open at a pressure differential of between 0.5 and 1.5 psi. The valve shall have a leak down rate of no more than 5 gallons in 24 hours. The valve shall be made of Nitrile to prevent corrosion from contact with hydrogen sulfide, dilute sulfuric acid and other gasses associated with a waste water collection system. 9. Have a handle provided in the insert and attached with a stainless steel rivet. The handle shall be made of 3/16 inch braided stainless steel cable, coated with plastic and be installed on the insert body with stainless steel rivets. A PVC vacuum valve shall also be installed by the manufacturer and equipped with an EPDM backflow prevention tube extending above the depth of the insert. The handle shall be installed on the Insert in such a way that it does not Interfere with the installation of the manhole lid. The handle shall be able to withstand a pull of 500 pounds of force before it fails or separates for the insert.
