Airport Asphalt Crack Sealing This project involves vegetation and aggregate removal and sealing of cracks in existing asphalt pavement surfaces at Cleburne Airport, including taxi lanes. Question Deadline 08/07/2025 at 5:00 PM CT Questions must be submitted in writing via online This project involves vegetation and aggregate removal and sealing of cracks in existing asphalt pavement surfaces at Cleburne Airport, including taxi lanes as depicted in the attached image. Tire objective is to extend pavement life, prevent water intrusion, and enhance operational safety. Seal all identified cracks 1/8" wide and larger within the specified areas. Prevent further degradation ofthe pavement surface due to water infiltration and freeze-thaw cycles. Minimize disruption to airport operations and maintain compliance with FAA and airport safety regulations. 3. Work Location Taxilanes servicing hangar rows on the northeast side ofthe airport. Note: A map and marked-up plans with exact locations will be provided priorto mobilization Site walk-through with airport staff1. Marking of all cracks to be sealed. Approval ofsafety and phasing plans. Mobilization ofpersonnel and equipment. Surface Preparation Clean all cracks ofdirt, vegetation, debris, and moisture using compressed air, heat lance, or router as required.Ensure no loose material remains that may prevent proper adhesion of crack sealant. c. CrackSealing Operations Apply FAA-approved hot-applied rubberized crack sealant (e.g., ASTM D6690 Type II or as specified). Seal all transverse and longitudinal cracks 1/8" or wider. o Over-banding ofsealant may be required (typically 1" wide max). o Ensure no tracking ofsealant onto adjacent pavements or surfaces. Quality Control o Ensure ambient and pavement temperatures are within specified limits before application. o Perform inspections before, during, and after sealing operations. o Adhere to manufacturer's specifications for sealant heating, application, and curing times Traffic Control & Coordination o Coordinate with Airport staff for required closures or phased access. o Comply with FAAAC 150/5370-2G (Operational Safety on Airports During Construction). o Provide flaggers, barricades, and appropriate lighting/signage as necessary. f. Cleanup & Demobilization Remove all debris, unused material, and equipment from site. o Leave work area in clean and operable condition. o Submit final report including quantities used, work areas completed, and inspection documentation.
