Professional engineering services for the inspection of the rehabilitation of the 400,000 and 500,000 gallon water tanks on Kent State University's campus. The Consultant shall provide a full-time inspector that will monitor and document work progress, repairs, installation of the new steel cover, containment procedures, surface preparation, coating application, environmental conditions, substrate temperatures, paint mil tests, lead abatement, Haz/mat handling procedures including compliance to the contract documents, technical specifications and also, local, state and federal regulations. Testing and inspection procedures shall include Nondestructive Testing (NDT) methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Visual Testing (VT), Certified Weld Inspections (CWI) and various other NDT methods which may be required. Coating assessments shall be in compliance with the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (Formerly Steel Structures Painting Council (SSPC) and National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Consultant shall provide a final report which will include daily log reports, photographs, correspondence, test results, and all pertinent data described above. It is anticipated that the selected Consultant will be authorized to proceed in September 2025 and construction will begin in fall of 2025 with the 500k tank being rehabilitated followed by the 400k tank being rehabilitated in winter/spring of 2026.
