Renovation of a municipal facility in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Working plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
**As of October 15, 2025, bids were rebid. No definite date for the rebid.** The scope of this project encompasses construction services to the northern facade of 1126 Main Street in Bridgeport, CT. The existing wall was exposed during a demolition project on an adjacent building. Facade repairs represent the first step in developing a new public green space on the adjacent site. Work will include removal of the existing plaster and tile finish, removal of the existing brick parapet wall, installation of veneer stabilization plates and an EIFS facade wall with cap and flashing, installation of a railed deck, and installation of a concrete sidewalk and planter wall. Question Submission Deadline:August 12, 2025, 5:00pm Question Response Deadline:August 19, 2025, 5:00pm Additional information can be found in the attached bid specifications. Include with the submitted bid, a ten (10%) percent bid bond or a certified check made payable to the City of Bridgeport with its bid submission if the bid is $50,000.00 or more, except for bids from MBE's, for which a bid bond is required on bids that are $100,000 or more. The successful bidder, prior to permission to proceed, will be required to post a payment bond of 100% of the contract price if the contract price is in excess of $100,000, and a performance bond, for 100% of the contract price, if the bid is $50,000.00, or more except that performance bonds from MBE's will only be required on projects that are $100,000.00 or more. THE MBE CERTIFICATION SHALL BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF BID OR NO EXEMPTION FROM THE BID BOND REQUIREMENT SHALL BE PERMITTED. Contractor must be licensed in the State of Connecticut and all employees must be properly certified and qualified to perform the work. Out of state bidder must provide the City of Bridgeport with a Certificate of Authority to Do Business in the State of Connecticut within five days of a Notice of Intent to Award. This can be obtained from the Connecticut Secretary of State. The contractor will be responsible for the safety of the work site. The contractor is responsible obtaining and paying for any and all permits as required. This contract award will require that the successful vendor have a valid SAM, DUNS, CT and Federal Tax ID numbers prior to commencing work. The Contractor is prohibited from assigning, transferring, conveying, subletting, or otherwise disposing of the ultimate contract award or its rights, title or interest therein or its power to execute such agreement to any other person, company or corporation without the prior consent and approval in writing by the City. This solicitation is for an "Invitation to Bid (ITB) only". This invitation to bid is not to be construed as a specific proposal or an offer to buy any products or services. Notwithstanding anything else herein to the contrary, the City expressly reserves all rights in its sole discretion and in the best interests of the City at any time prior to the selection of a preferred respondent and purchase order: Bid Rejection: The City of Bridgeport reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part or to accept any bid, in its sole discretion if doing so deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bridgeport. This includes the right to reject any or all bids or to decline to make an award. Further, the City of Bridgeport reserves the right to make an award to more than one bidder or make awards not based solely on low bid when time is of the essence. MSDS: The City of Bridgeport may request MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) or additional product information and literature or samples on any brands or products proposed as equivalents to those listed herein prior to award or to be included with shipment. Tax Delinquency: The City of Bridgeport reserves the right to ensure bidders are not delinquent on any City real estate and personal property taxes, ate the time of bid opening. Purchase Order: No work of deliveries shall be performed under the contract award until a Purchase Order has been issued by the Purchasing Department. Contract Award: The City of Bridgeport reserves the right to award a purchase order to the responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to the solicitation, will be most advantageous to the City of Bridgeport in terms of cost. Other factors such as lead time, equipment, availability and other factors specified in this solicitation may be considered. Bid Dates: The City of Bridgeport reserves the right to modify any dates other terms of the ITB upon posting notice. Liability: The City of Bridgeport is not liable to any Respondent for damages of any type, however arising. The Contractor shall be required to perform all work enumerated under the different items of the contract and to protect all adjoining property, all Utilities and existing roadway facilities within the Right-of-Way/Site and to repair or replace any such properties, Utilities and facilities damaged or destroyed by him or his employees in performing the work, both within and adjacent to the Right-of-Way/Site. The Contractor's attention is directed to the fact that during the life of this contract the owners and operators of Utilities may make changes in their facilities within the limits of or adjacent to this contract which may be both temporary and permanent. The Contractor shall be responsible for the coordination of the work of his various Subcontractors. Their respective operations shall be arranged and conducted so that delays will be avoided. Where the work of the Contractor, or Subcontractors, overlaps or dovetails with that of other Contractors, materials shall be delivered and operations conducted so as to carry on the work continuously in an efficient and workmanlike manner. Delays or oversights on the part of the Contractor or Subcontractors or Utility owners in getting any or all of their work properly done, thereby requiring the cutting, removing and replacing of work already in place, shall not be the basis of a claim or request for extra compensation. Such work will be performed at the cost and expense of the offending Contractor, Subcontractor or Utility owners.
