Renovation of a fire / police facility in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

Reference Number 0000394266 The City of Ypsilanti ("City" or "Owner") was recently awarded a Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Community Energy Management Grant ("Grant") to fund the purchase and installation of one dual port Level 2 EV charger at the City's Fire Station to serve City fleet vehicles. In partial fulfillment of this Grant, the City is issuing this Invitation to Bid for experienced electricians interested in installing the dual port Level 2 EV charger. Additionally, the City's application for two DTE Charging Forward eFleet rebates was approved. Therefore, installation of the chargers must abide by the City's Grant Agreement as well as the DTE eFleets Program Terms and Conditions signed by the City. Please see project documents for additional details and requirements. It is believed that the best location for the EV charger, would be one of two possible locations identified in Figure 1 below. Figure 1 also identifies the three possible parking spots, two of which would utilize the charger, depending on where the EV charger is ultimately located. The charger would draw power from an electric panel located in the mechanical room at the eastern corner of the Fire Station. It is believed that existing capacity on the electric panel can support the charger. A conduit run would be installed on the exterior back wall of the Fire Station, outside this room, and then be buried underground to the EV charger. The EV charger would be free-standing, anchored to a concrete base per the EV charger's installation specifications. If Bidder believes that these charging conditions would be met at the lowest cost bid by installing two single port EV chargers instead, they are encouraged to propose this solution in their bid and explain it thoroughly.
