The City of Burlingame (hereinafter called City) is requesting from qualified professional engineering consulting firms (hereinafter called Consultant), a proposal for the design of Bay Trail Cass I Gap Closure Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement Project including community outreach and professional engineering design services as a turnkey approach as described herein. The Bay Trail Gap Closure Project targets the completion of the Bay Trail at Airport Boulevard between the Burlingame and San Mateo borders. This current section of does not have an official path of travel for Bay Trail users and is considered a high-priority location for by the Burlingame Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee and the Traffic Safety and Parking Commission, as well as, the City's 2019 General Plan and the 2020 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. The purpose of this RFP is to select a qualified engineering design consultant firm to provide professional engineering services for implementing the complete street improvement project at Airport Boulevard. The consultant will be responsible for developing design development, comprehensive plans and construction documents, and supporting the City throughout the community outreach and construction process.
