Renovation of a detention facility in Beaumont, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 200-square-foot detention facility.
VADOC is seeking a SBSD certified vendor to clean and epoxy the walls and floor of one (1) shower pod per the below. The total square footage of the floor is 65ft with 30 linear feet of integral epoxy spoon cove. Total square footage of walls is approximately 200sqft. Bid price must include any freight charge for delivery to the Beaumont Correctional Center at 3500 Beaumont Rd., Beaumont, VA 23014 if applicable. Shower Pod : A. Floor system to be 3/16" urethan mortar slurry and polyaspartic urethane topcoat. B. Steps of resinous epoxy floor systems: 1. Mechanical floor prep through diamond grinding. 2. Patch and fill using 100% solids epoxy and urethane slurry. 3. Install 1 st body coat with urethane mortar slurry. 4. Install 2nd body coat with 100% solids epoxy. 5. Install polyaspartic urethane topcoat. C. Wall coatings will be completely removed down to bare cinder block through diamond grinding. D. Walls will be skimmed (x2) to hid grout lines and imperfections. E. Steps of resinous epoxy wall system: 1. Mechanical floor prep through diamond grinding. 2. Install 1st skim coat using 100% solids epoxy. 3. Install 2nd skim coat using 100% solids epoxy. 4. Install 1st body coat using erosion resistant epoxy. 5. Install 2nd body coat using erosion resistant epoxy. 6. Install aliphatic urethane topcoat. Any bid in response to this solicitation shall be valid for (90) days. At the end of the days the bid may be withdrawn at the written request of the bidder. If the bid is not withdrawn at that time it remains in effect until an award is made or the solicitation is canceled. To enter the facility area where the proposed work is needed, you will need to submit VCIN paperwork for each person attending, and be approved prior to entering. Please email a copy of the front and back of Driver License along with Attachment B (below) for anyone entering the facility to Joyce.Lehman@vadoc.virginia.gov no later than Friday, August 10, 2025, 5pm to attend. No blue jeans allowed inside the facilities.
