Reference Number 0000299456 The current collection process involves curbside cart pickup on a biweekly basis for residential and custom schedule for commercial properties based on pre-determined needs with current supplier. Starting June 1, 2026 the Municipality of WestLake-Gladstone is looking for proposals for solid waste and recycling. Bi-weekly collection for residential and commercial pick up in Gladstone, Plumas and Langruth. The Municipality of WestLake-Gladstone requests proposals to provide curbside collection services for the following: a. Residential curbside cart collection of solid waste and recycling to approximately 595 locations every two (2) weeks. b. Commercial cart or bin services on a pre-determined basis between business, municipality, and contractor. The Municipality of WestLake-Gladstone does not require commercial and industrial properties to participate in the Solid Waste & Recycling contract. These property owners may be provided with the choice to pursue private collection services OR may choose to become part of the Municipality of WestLake-Gladstone Collection contract once successful proposal has been chosen. Therefore, numbers provided on Schedule A "Schedule of Prices" are estimated as close to accurate as possible. Commercial bin pickup for solid waste and recycling in a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. Commercial properties will be provided pickup with an appropriate bin size which is a front load container for both garbage and recycling. All containers must be equipped with proper lids. The Contractor will be responsible for the collection of all cart and bin pickups. The hauling and disposal of such materials from all premises within Gladstone, Plumas or Langruth are to be either hauled (excluding recycling) and disposed of at licensed waste disposal facility location the contractor chooses. Recycling will be hauled to a processing facility of the contractor's choice. The contract shall be for a five (5) year period, commencing on June 1st, 2026 and ends on May 31st, 2031, with the option to extend the contract on a year by year basis by resolution of Council.
