PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project includes replacement and/or repair of various components of the airport's storm water drainage system, including pipes, headwalls, and other storm system structures. A Bidder's bond must be executed on the form furnished by the Owner, and the required bond, cash, cashier's check, or certified check must accompany each proposal, in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the proposal. A 100% performance bond and a 100% payment bond will be required of the Contractor at time of contract execution. A Georgia Resident Agent must countersign all bonds from a surety company authorized by law to do business in this State pursuant to a current certificate of authority to transact surety business by the Commissioner of Insurance; no bond shall be approved unless the surety is on the United States Department of Treasury's list of approved bond sureties. All work under the contract shall be completed within the number of calendar days associated with the awarded Schedule of Work from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. No pre-bid conference will be held for this project. The Project is comprised of two (2) distinct phases of work. Each phase consists of a work area with unique construction access, traffic control, and sequencing requirements. Refer to the CSPP, in Appendix C, for graphical depictions of the phases along with notes on phase specific sequencing and operational requirements. Phase 1 Work Area Phase 1 Work Area includes all work inside of the Runway Safety Area and Runway Object Free Area, during which time Runway 5-23 and all taxiways will be closed with the placement of closure markers and barricades. Phase 1 work generally includes demolition of existing storm drainage components, installation of new storm drainage components, grade restoration, pavement repairs, application of airfield marking, and stabilization of disturbed soils. Workoutside of the Runway Safety Area and Runway Object Free Area may be done concurrently with this Phase, provided the contractor can meet the allotted Phase 1 contract time. 3.2.2 Phase 2 Work Area Phase 2 Work Area includes all workoutside ofthe Runway Safety Area and Runway Object Free Area, during which time Runway 5-23 is open and all taxiways, excluding Taxiway D which provides access to the Terminal Apron, will be closed with the placement of closure markers and barricades.
