Demolition and site work for a residential development in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The project involves the demolition of structures located at 1430 Madison Avenue and 171 S Tennessee Avenue of City of Atlantic City. Each bid when submitted shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond drawn to the order of the Atlantic County Improvement Authority, on the form furnished with the Bid Forms and other Contract Documents, for a sum of ten (10) percent of the total bid amount (said Bid Bond not to exceed $20,000). Each bid shall also be accompanied by such other documents and information as are required by the Bid Documents. Bids shall be on a total lump sum basis for the base contract as listed in the Form of Proposal listed on Page C-1 of the Project Manual. Bidders are required to comply with the laws and regulations of the State of New Jersey pertaining to construction projects, including, but not limited to the following: New Jersey Public Law 1975, c.127, "Law Against Discrimination"; New Jersey Public Law 1977. c.33, "An Act Requiring the Reporting of the Names and Addresses of Shareholders or Partners owning over Ten Percent (10%) of an Enterprise"; New Jersey Public Law 1963, c.150, "Prevailing Wage Act"; P.L. 2004, c. 57; N.J.S.A 19:44 A20.4 et. seq., (New Jersey Local Unit "Pay to Play" Law); and all amendments thereof. Bidders must submit with their bids the non-collusion affidavit contained in the contract documents. The bidders/offerors must submit documentary evidence of minority and women business enterprises who have been contacted and to whom commitments have been made. Documentation of such solicitations and commitments shall be submitted concurrently with the bid. The provisions of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act are requirements of this project. The Atlantic County Improvement Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids. A. The work includes the complete demolition, and final cleaning up of up to 2 residential building, including footings and foundations and surface concrete. The Contractor shall render and leave properties leveled off to a depth of six (6) inches below grade and backfilled with four (4) inches topsoil, (between April 1 st to November 15 th ) free and clear of all rubble, debris, and other things, leveled off at curb grade and seeded with "South Jersey Mix," a flower mixture approved by the City Landscape Architect, in accordance with the specifications of the manufacturer, Applewood Seed Company, 5380 Vivian Street, Arvada, CO 80002. Telephone: (303)431-7333 / Fax: (303)467-7886 / Web-Site. Between November 15th and April 1st , 4"- 3/4 " clean crushed stone shall be applied. B. In order to protect the community from any rodents within said premises, two (2) weeks prior to demolition, said premises shall be treated with an approved rodenticide of a safe nature. Said rodenticide shall be applied by a professional exterminator with adequate precautions. C. All adjoining, independent and party walls shall be protected from damage, so that it shall be and remain as safe and as useful as it was before the demolition was commenced. D. The area occupied by the structures and their foundations shall be back-filled to the grade of the existing ground and sidewalks with clean fill. All such backfill shall be placed in maximum 6" layers, thoroughly compacted and mechanically tamped in layers and finished off to a smooth even drainage grade. This includes backfilling any existing collar or sub-ground conditions exposed. In performing the work of this project, the Contractor shall not do any damage to public or private property or utilities. Particular attention is called in protecting from damage, the public curbs and sidewalks. 1. This section describes the materials and procedures for finishing exposed party walls. 2. The contractor shall notify the ACIA when the party wall is first exposed to evaluate if the condition of the wall is acceptable to accept the treatment prescribed herein, or another repair be designed.
