Miami-Dade County is soliciting interested contractors to register to participate and perform in Miscellaneous Construction Contract (MCC) Bids under the MCC 7040 & 7360 Plan projects. Contractual Opportunities are continuously available for all businesses located in Miami-Dade who are interested in doing business with the County. The types of contracts available under the MCC Program are construction projects, facility repairs, neighborhood improvements, emergency repairs and maintenance work with a maximum value of $5.0M; ORD 09-101. All capital departments are participating. Additional opportunities are available through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings by families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Measures to make homes more energy efficient include: replacement or installation of key components, installation of energy recovery ventilation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality, install attic insulation, install window solar films, repair or replace inefficient cooling units, repair or replace water heaters and address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking thresholds, minor wall repairs, ceiling and floors, windows and doors. Cultural Affairs Department - Dorixis Batista De Mc Comas - Telephone No.: (305)375-3068 LICENSE REQUIREMENT: General Building Contractor SCOPE OF WORK: Removal and installation services for the existing exterior light fixtures at the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center. The Project includes, but is not limited to the following activities: 1. Removal and replacement of all existing light fixtures with new LED fixtures. Refer to enclosed documentation for new fixtures specified by the architect. 2. Add new light fixtures and required support equipment/drivers as needed to provide new light on each glass panel. Total of thirty-six (36) new light fixtures. 3. Apply new plaster finish to two (2) low concrete walls, where light fixture and glass signage are embedded, following the architect's drawings and specifications. 4. Coordinate all work with the Department of Cultural Affairs (owner) and the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center staff to minimize disruptions 5. Contractor to protect existing glass railing to remain. 6. Full set of drawings included in the solicitation package. 7. Permitting fees to be included in Project costs. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: At the time of Bid and pursuant to the requirements of Section 10-3 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida and these Solicitation and Contract Documents, the Bidder must hold a valid, current, and active licenses as follows: 1) Prime: Florida General Contractor License 2) Sub: Electrical Contractor Bidders must meet the following minimum qualifications and responsibility requirements: 1.The selected contractor or primary principals of the company must demonstrate active experience in the construction industry for at least five (5) years prior to submittal. 2. The selected contractor or primary principals and/or senior management must demonstrate experience as a prime contractor responsible for construction projects of comparable or greater size and scope, complexity, quality, value, type and scale within the past five (5) years. Prior to securing any bid documents, bidders shall provide the County a signed and notarized Section 00 60 00 - Confidentiality Affidavit provided with the documents under this solicitation. The affidavit shall be sent to Dorixis Batista, Capital Contracts Manager, at Dorixis.Batista@miamidade.gov and Stefania Barigelli at Stefania.Barigelli@miamidade.gov who in turn will make the drawings and specifications available to the bidder.
