Renovation of a civil project in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The City of Richmond, Virginia (the "City"), on behalf of the Department of Public Utilities ("DPU"), seeks bids from qualified firms to provide general contracting services for the Backwash Waste Pump Station Upgrade project (the "Project"). The services required include, but are not limited to, replacement of four (4) backwash waste pumping units and motor soft starters, replacement of electrical Motor Control Center ("MCC"), installation of a new vacuum priming system, installation of a new PLC system and associated instrumentations, installation of the new HVAC system, and miscellaneous associated valve and piping work (the "Work"). The Contractor shall mobilize forces and commence work within fifteen (15) days from Notice to Proceed or as may be mutually agreed to at the pre-construction meeting. The contractor shall prosecute the Work so as to prevent delay to other contractors or to the general completion of the project. Time being the essence of this Contract, the contractor shall prosecute the Work diligently, using such means and methods of construction as will secure its final completion in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents, not later than the date specified in Invitation for Bid or on the date to which the time for completion may be extended.
