Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The City of Richmond is accepting bids for the construction of the Bryan Park Fall Line Trail project which includes the construction of a shared-use path, installation of ADA accessible curb ramps, drainage, and associated improvements. The project will be performed at Bryan Park (4308 Hermitage Rd, Richmond, VA 23227) from Bellevue Ave. to Bryan Park Ave., and along Bryan Park Ave. to Hermitage Rd. Background The planned Fall Line Trail is a regional paved multi-use trail that is intended to span seven localities and connect rural, suburban, and urban landscapes including numerous places of interest in the Richmond region from Petersburg to the Town of Ashland. The City of Richmond, in conjunction with Central Virginia Transportation Authority (CVTA), developed this project as part of the regional Fall Line Trail project initiative, improving multimodal connectivity and safety through Bryan Park. Any bidder submitting a bid for a construction Contracts in excess of $100,000 shall submit to the City a bid guarantee of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount set forth in item 14 of the Bid Form. Such security may be a certified check or a cashier's check or a Bid Bond made payable to the Owner. The Owner may require bidders submit bid security for lesser bid amounts, however, this will be so stated in the Invitation for Bid. The bidder shall deliver such Bid Bond or check with the understanding it shall guarantee that the bidder will not withdraw its bid during the acceptance period indicated in the Invitation for Bids except as defined in paragraphs 2.42 and 3.1 of the Contract Documents; that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will enter into a formal Contract with the Owner in accordance with the Contract Documents; and that Performance and Payment Bond, and Certificate of Insurance will be given; and that in the event of the failure to enter into said Contract and give said Bonds and Certificate of Insurance within fifteen(15) days after it has received notice of acceptance of its bid, the bidder shall be liable to the Owner for the full amount of the bid guarantee or the difference between the bid for which the bond was written and the next low bid as representing the damage to the Owner. Forfeiture under a Bid Bond shall not exceed the lesser thereof. The Bid Bonds and checks shall be returned to all except the three lowest bidders after the formal opening of bids. If the required contract has not been executed within sixty (60) days after the date of the opening of bids, or any extension agreed to in writing by both parties, then bond or check of any bidder will be returned upon request, provided it has not been notified of the acceptance of its bid prior to the date of such request. No plea of mistake in the bid shall be available to the bidder for the recovering of a bid security or as a defense to any action based upon the neglect or refusal to execute a Contract except as provided in paragraphs 2.27 and 3.5 of the Contract Documents. A bid bond will be accepted if executed on the official form furnished by the Owner or other form as may be approved by the Owner. Bid bonds must be in an original form and contain original signatures. Any bid accompanied by a bond executed as a copy, duplicated or facsimile will be rejected. Work to be completed within 262 consecutive calendar days after Notice to Proceed. A business at least 51% of which is owned and controlled or 51% minority-owned and operated by minority group members or, in case of a stock corporation, at least 51% of the stock which is owned and controlled by minority group members. Minority group members are citizens of the United States who are African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, or American Indian. Construction includes, but is not limited to, the following work: A. Clearing, grading, and earthwork B. Asphalt pavement C. 10' shared-use path D. Shoulders E. Concrete curbs F. ADA-accessible curb ramps G. Sidewalk H. Drainage improvements I. Erosion & sediment control J. Pavement markings K. Signs L. Other associated improvements
