Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Oxford - Repair Boiler Doors 2 and 3 This project involves the repair of the rear doors on Boilers #2 and #3 at FCI Oxford due to substantial cracks in the existing refractory, which allow main burner flame heat to penetrate and deteriorate the boiler's outer surfaces. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to perform the repairs in accordance with the specifications. Work includes removing deteriorated refractory and insulation; welding new anchors; installing fiberglass forms; pouring and vibrating new refractory; installing new insulation, wire mesh, and speed washers; and applying spray insulation with rigidizer. The contractor is responsible for shipping, delivering, and furnishing all required materials and equipment, erforming installation per manufacturer specifications, and coordinating material/equipment storage with FCI Oxford staff. FCI Oxford staff will dispose of the removed refractory and insulation. After receiving Government approval, the contractor shall proceed with necessary repairs, which may include the replacement of damaged tubes or fittings. Following repair work, the contractor shall reassemble the boiler, perform a pressure test, and verify that all functions meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards. The contractor shall also ensure the system is fully operational and provide documentation confirming the completion and performance of the work. - Provide all labor, equipment, materials, safety equipment, consumables, and tools needed to repair the rear doors on Boilers #2 and #3. Location: Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Oxford, 350 Elk Avenue, Oxford, WI 53952 SCOPE OF WORK - FC! Oxford proposes to have an outside contractor repair the rear doors on boiler 2 and 3. Contractor will furnish the material, professional labor services, and related items necessary to complete the work shown on the drawings and as detailed. The contractor shall perform the work as follows: 1. Technical Specs/Requirements a. Weld in new anchors b. Insulate lower halfofdoor c. Install fiberglass form on door shell d. Pour new refractory and vibrate into placed per manufacturers specifications e. Weld in new anchors into top halfof door f. Install new insulation, wire mesh, and speed washers g. Spray insulation with rigidizer. 2. Materials and Equipment - The contractor will ship, deliver, and furnish all materials and equipment needed to perform the scope of work. 3. Installation - All materials and equipment will be installed according to the manufacture's recommendations. 4. Waste Removal - FCI Oxford Staffwill dispose ofthe old refractory and insulation. 5. Work Site Access a. Access Route - FCI Oxford access road off ofHwy G to Powerhouse b. Parking - Powerhouse parking lot c. Material and Equipment storage - Approved by FCI Oxford Staff 6. Start Up - Upon completion of installation, the boilers shall function per manufacturer specifications. The contractor will perform a startup to ensure the boilers are performing properly. 7. Warranty/Inspection - Work shall be inspected by FCI Oxford Powerhouse Staff. 8. FCI Oxford StaffResponsibilitya. FCI Oxford Staffwill remove old refractory and insulation. b. FCI Oxford Staffwill wire brush the inside surface to provide a clean surface to weld on. 9. Period ofPerformance a. Work time completed in 6 weeks. b. Lead time for delivery 4 weeks.
