Scope of Work: The work to be done in general consists of mobilization; preparatory work, securing the work area for public safety, and site cleanup daily, traffic control; water pollution control program; monuments preservation; cold planning of asphalt pavement; profile grind; placement of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) overlay; Digout repairs; concrete curb and sidewalk replacement; lowering and adjustment of utility covers to finish grade; removal & replacement of traffic striping and pavement markings; removing traffic loop detections; and all other work shown on the Plans and as specified in the Project Manual and all other work as specified in these Special Conditions, Technical Provisions, and as shown on the Plans. City anticipates that the Work will begin in October 2025 but the anticipated start date is provided solely for convenience and is neither certain nor binding. Liquidated Damages. It is expressly understood that if Final Completion is not achieved within the Contract Time, City will suffer damages from the delay that are difficult to determine and accurately specify. City will charge the Contractor $3,000 for each calendar day that Final Completion is delayed beyond the Contract Time. License. This Project requires a valid California contractor's license for the following classifications: Class "A," General Engineering Contractor or Class "C12," Earthwork and Paving Contractor. The Bid Form must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee that within ten days after City issues the Notice of Potential Award, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, insurance certificates and endorsements, and any other submittals required by the Contract Documents and as specified in the Notice of Potential Award.
