Remodeling of an educational facility in Concord, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 5,826-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.

This project provides improvements to the existing multi-purpose building with particular emphasis on upgrades to the kitchen. General scope of work includes but is not limited to: alterations to the kitchen, assembly area and stage; replacement of all food service equipment; upgrade of lighting, power, and plumbing utilities to meet the needs of new equipment; installation of new HVAC systems throughout the building; modification of the existing low voltage, fire alarm, voice evacuation, and clock/bell/speaker system; and exterior site work improvements including path of travel and accessibility drop-off areas. To bid on this project, the bidder is required to have been prequalified by the District. If there are electrical, mechanical, or plumbing components performed by subcontractors under the following license classifications, each subcontractor intended as a first-tier subcontractor to a general contractor (prime contractor) is also required to have been prequalified by the District: C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and/or C-46. a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price. This bid security shall be a guarantee that the Bidder shall, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Project. The District's Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. If the District awards the Contract, the security of unsuccessful Bidder(s) shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made. Unless otherwise required by law, no Bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. Anticipated Award Date: November 13, 2025 THIS PROJECT PROVIDES IMPROVEMENTS TO THE EXISTING MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON UPGRADES TO THE KITCHEN. GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: 1. UPGRADE THE EXISTING MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING INCLUDING ALTERATIONS TO THE KITCHEN, ASSEMBLY AREA AND STAGE. 2. COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE KITCHEN INCLUDING THE REPLACEMENT OF ALL FOOD SERVICE EQUIPMENT, EXHAUST HOODS, UTILITIES AND RECONFIGURATION OF THE KITCHEN TO BETTER RESPOND TO CURRENT NEEDS. KITCHEN TO RECEIVE NEW CODE COMPLIANT COOK LINE EXHAUST HOOD WITH FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AND WALK-IN FREEZER/REFRIGERATOR FOR KITCHEN STAFF USE ONLY. 3. UPGRADE TO KITCHEN LIGHTING, POWER AND PLUMBING UTLITIES TO MEET THE NEEDS OF NEW KITCHEN LAYOUT AND EQUIPMENT. 4. UPGRADE THE EXISTING ASSEMBLY AREA WITH NEW FINISHES, IMPROVED ACOUSTICS, REMOVAL OF EXISTING UNIT VENTILATORS AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS AS NEEDED TO BETTER RESPOND TO CURRENT NEEDS. 5. PROVIDE NEW HVAC SYSTEMS THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING, INCLUDING THE KITCHEN. 6. EXPLORE THE CONDITION OF ANY EXISTING EMS SYSTEM AND MAKE IMPROVEMENTS AS REQUIRED TO CONNECT NEW WORK. 7. MODIFY THE EXISTING LOW VOLTAGE SYSTEMS, FIRE ALARM SYSTEM, VOICE-EVAC FUNCTION, CLOCK/BELL SYSTEM, PHONE SYSTEM, INTERCOM SYSTEM, AND DATA SYSTEM TO ACCOMMODATE NEW WORK. 8. RE-FINISH EXISTING CUSTODIAL ROOM TO INCLUDE PAINT, NEW PROTECTIVE WALL FINISH AND MISC. STORAGE SOLUTIONS. 9. EXTERIOR SITE WORK IMPROVEMENT INCLUDING NEW PATH OF TRAVEL, NEW ACCESSIBILITY DROPOFF AREA, NEW ACCESSIBLE AND VAN PARKINGS, AND A NEW GREASE TRAP INTERCEPTOR 10. (N) TRASH ENCLOSURE 11. INSTALLATION OF (N) VOICE EVACUATION CONTROL PANEL 12. THE NEW PLYWOOD SHEAR WALL IN THE KITCHEN OF THE MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING SERVES ONLY TO REDUCE THE ASPECT RATIO OF DIAPHRAGM OF THE LOW-ROOF OVER THE KITCHEN. 13. RESTROOMS UPGRADE Upgrade the existing multi-purpose building with particular emphasis on upgrades to the kitchen at El Dorado Middle School.
