The City of Lawrence, Kansas is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide for the design, procurement, and installation oversight of replacement traveling screen equipment for raw water influent at Low Service Pump Station No. 2 at the Kaw Water Treatment Plant. The existing screening system is model 45 manufactured by Link Belt. The system was installed in 1985 and reconditioned in 2010. This equipment requires complicated maintenance including the greasing of each individual link within the system. The equipment is reaching the end of its service life and requires replacement. Additional information on the existing system is provided. After determining a technical proposal satisfies the mandatory requirements in the Request for Proposal, a comparative assessment of the proposal in relationship to the published evaluation criteria shall be made. The City reserves the right to consider historic information and fact, whether gained from the proposal, references, or any other source, in the evaluation of the proposals. Any, all or no bidders may be required to appear before the evaluation committee to explain the bidder's understanding and approach to the project and/or respond to questions concerning the proposal; or, the City may award without conducting negotiations, based on the initial proposal. The City reserves the right to request information from bidders as needed. If information is requested, the City is not required to request the information of all bidders.
