Renovation of a residential development in Obion, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
Comprehensive interior renovations including kitchen improvements, bath improvements, flooring, drywall, patching, painting, interior doors, lighting, electrical, mechanical and plumbing in six (6) dwelling units. All bidders must be licensed Contractors as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1994 (TCA Title 62, Chapter 6) of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee. For projects $25,000 and more, the law requires the Prime (general) contractor to list their contractor license information on the outside of the bid envelope with the Name as licensed, License Number, Expiration Date and the Classification applying to the bid. In addition to the prime, the contractor license information must also be included on the outside of the envelope for the Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Roofing and Masonry subcontractors; unless their portion (each discipline/field) is less than $25,000; or masonry portion if less than $100,000 (including materials and labor). In addition, Geothermal projects must include the Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Well Driller license number with the G, L or G,L classification, unless their portion is less than $25,000. Only one (1) subcontractor may be listed for each classification. See the law for complete instructions, T.C.A. 62-6-119. If the subcontract does not exceed $25,000.00 for the above-mentioned categories or $100,000 for masonry work, the general contractor must certify to this effect, in writing, on the outside of the Bid Envelope. Each prime bidder must deposit with his bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid. Bid Bonds and Performance and Payment Bonds must be secured by a guaranty, or a surety company listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570 and shall be within the maximum amount specified for such company in said Circular 570. The "Bid Bond" and the "Performance and Payment Bond" must be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the state where the project is located and must be listed in U.S. Treasury Circular No. 570. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
