Bids Must Be Submitted in a Sealed Envelope Bearing the Name and Address of the Bidder and the Words "Bid for Township of Weehawken - Waterfront Lighting Replacement. No bids will be received after the time designated above for opening of bids. Bids may be received by mail provided that they are received prior to the designated opening time. Timely delivery is the absolute responsibility of the bidder. Proposals must be submitted on forms provided in the bid package and must comply with specifications on file in the Office of the Township Clerk. All forms in the bid package must be completed in their entirety, the bid must be set forth in words and figures and submitted together with a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the usual form, and the Consent [to provide the appropriate performance and payments bonds if the bidder is successful] of an acceptable Surety Company [with an "A" rating] in the amount of ten per cent (10%) of the bid, not to exceed $20,000 to the Township of Weehawken. Said amount will be retained by the Township as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder shall fail or refuse to enter into such contract within ten (10) days after written notice to do so. The successful bidder must comply with Affirmative Action Requirements of P.L. 1975, c.127 and all other applicable laws, rules and regulations, including but not limited to the provisions of N.J.A.C. 5:34-3.1 to 3.4. The successful bidder must comply with the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, P.L. 1999, c. 238 and all other applicable laws, rules and regulations. The successful bidder is subject to all provisions on the NJ Prevailing Wage Act (Laws of NJ, Ch. 150) and Federal Labor Standard Provisions. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all of the bids submitted, and to waive minor irregularities therein, and to accept bids containing differences based upon equivalent models of different manufacturers deemed by the Township in its sole discretion to be inconsequential, if the foregoing be deemed by the Township to be in its best interests to do so. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. ProjectDescription This Project includes the removal of damaged lightpoles and replacement in kind on the existing concrete bases as directed by the Weehawken DPW Staff. The existing light poles and luminaires were damaged by wind storms and have been tipped off their bases and or broken. The work shall include the full removal of any broken material to the baseplate, supply of a new light pole of the same height, type and finish, wiring to existing circuits and controls, installation of luminaires and all other work required to make the light pole safe and functional. The base bid for the project shall be 30 new light poles in existing locations. A unit price per light pole replacement is requested to allow the town to replace additional poles as required.
