Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Garfield, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

The project has a goal of ten to twenty percent (10-20%) MBE/DBE/WBE participation. Written inquiries received ten (10) days or more, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excepted, prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids, will be given consideration. A. Work Scope includes, but is not limited to 1. Removal of existing windows and all associated components. 2. Removal of existing steel lintels. 3. Removal of existing masonry lintels and sills. 4. Installation of new flashings and weeps. 5. Installation of new steel lintels. 6. Installation of new masonry lintels and sills 7. Installation of new aluminum windows. 8. Repair/replacement of brick masonry. 9. Installation of new interior finishes associated with Window and Lintel removals and installation. B. Work includes general construction. C. The Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. Window & Lintel Reolacement Proiect at the Garfield Y.M.C.A. and all work incidental thereto as indicated in and in accordance with the project documents. Bids must be accompanied by a Statement of Ownership, Non-Collusion Affidavit and a Cashier's check, Certified Check or Bid Bond for not less than ten percent ( 10%) of the bid amount, provided said check need not be more than $20,000 and submitted with bid at the place on the hour named above. Bids Inust be accompanied by consent of Surety. The successful bidder will be required to furnish an acceptable Performance and Labor and Material Bond for the full amount of the project. The bidder and its subcontractor(s), if any, must be qualified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Maintenance and Construction. as required by law, and possess a valid and current Notice of Classification prior to the time and date that bids are received. Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 17: 1 9 et seq., in order to submit a bid for the Project, the Bidder or its subcontractor(s) shall be classified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Project Management and Construction for the work indicated in the project documents. Bidders must be authorized to do business in New Jersey. Any Bidder which is a corporation not chartered under the laws of the State of New Jersey, must submit affidavit cettifying that said cotporation is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. Bidders must be registered with the Department of Labor and are required to comply with the requirements of Public Law 1 999, c. 288, "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act", which became effective on April 11, 2000. Bidders are required to comply with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage (Davis/Bacon) Act, N.J.S.A. 34: 11-56.48 et. seq., and pay all workmen and/or subcontractors petforming services in connection with the project not less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the State Department of Labor and industry, whereby said prevailing rate of wages shall be determined by the Secretary of Labor in accordance with the Davis/Bacon Act, as amended, or the New Jersey Prevailing Wage law of 1963, Chapter 150 (N.J.S.A. 34: 1 1-56.25 et seq.), whichever rates are higher. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975, C. 127, Affirmative Action and P.L. 1977, C. 33, Statement of Ownership. The owner reserves the right to waive any informality in any bid or bids, and to reject any or all bids and to accept such bid 01' bids and to make such award(s) as may be in the best interest of the Owner. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. ** bid date info : Bids must be submitted in duplicate and enclosed in sealed envelopes, bearing the name and address of the bidder, the name of the project, the time and date designated for the receipt of bids, addressed to Ms. Patricia Gallagher, Chief Executive Officer of the Garfield YMCA at 33 Outwater Lane, (Office Trailer at Rear of Parking Area), City of Garfield, New Jersey 0702 clearly indicate that a bid is enclosed for this particular project, the time and date of the receipt of bids, and bear the name and address of the party submitting the proposal. All proposals submitted by mail must be received at the place by or before the date and hour named above. Bids will not be accepted after the designated time. Sealed bids for the project shall be submitted as a single prime contract.
