Remodeling of a fire / police facility in Doral, Florida. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 8,261-square-foot fire / police facility.
Miami-Dade County is soliciting interested contractors to register to participate and perform in Miscellaneous Construction Contract (MCC) Bids under the MCC 7040 & 7360 Plan projects. Contractual Opportunities are continuously available for all businesses located in Miami-Dade who are interested in doing business with the County. The types of contracts available under the MCC Program are construction projects, facility repairs, neighborhood improvements, emergency repairs and maintenance work with a maximum value of $5.0M; ORD 09-101. All capital departments are participating. Additional opportunities are available through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings by families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Measures to make homes more energy efficient include: replacement or installation of key components, installation of energy recovery ventilation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality, install attic insulation, install window solar films, repair or replace inefficient cooling units, repair or replace water heaters and address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking thresholds, minor wall repairs, ceiling and floors, windows and doors. LICENSE REQUIREMENT: General Building Contractor, Building Contractor SBE Measures: 1.0 % SBE-G&S goal in the following recommended services/commodities: NIGP 98852: Landscaping Services NIGP 90974: Site Clean-up NIGP 97537: Garbage/Refuse Equipment, Dumpsters, etc. Rental or Lease. The scope of work includes but not limited to Renovations of the existing lobby and interior atriums (east and west). Renovations of the existing Lobby space (2,188 sq. ft.) inside the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Headquarters building include but not limited to new epoxy flooring and new ceiling grid layout with new lighting fixtures. The lobby will have a new reception desk with bullet resistant glass to create a secure separation between the public lobby and all non-public areas, preventing direct access beyond the reception zone. The lobby will be painted with Sherwin Williams PrepRite Pro-Block Interior-Exterior Latex Primer- Sealer or Approved equal, B51-600 Series or approved equal followed by two coats of Sherwin Williams Duration Home Interior Latex Satin, A97 Series or Approved equal. Colors to be selected by MDFR. The mechanical system layout and fire sprinkler heads will have to be relocated to account for the new separations created in the reception area and bullet resistant glass divisions. The West Atrium (2,401 sq. ft.) will be renovated to include new stairs and accessible ramps with railings at existing door and new entry door to be added. The atrium will have new granite tile flooring throughout. A new monument wall, planters, landscape, and lighting will be included as part of the scope. All storefronts at ground level are to be replaced with impact rated storefront. Structural work will be needed for the addition of a new entry door added to the south side of the atrium. The East Atrium (3,672 sq. ft.) will be renovated to include new stairs and accessible ramps with railings at existing door and new entry doors to be added. The atrium will have a new concrete walkway with concrete pavers connecting the two entrances. Decorative garden stones will be added between the pavers; the remaining area will have artificial turf installed. New lighting fixtures will be included in the scope. Structural work will be needed for the addition of a new entry door added to the north side of the atrium. The last day for project RFI QUESTIONS is on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Any questions submitted after aforementioned date shall not be considered. MDFR will review and answer the questions, prior to the bid due date. Contractor must refer to the Request for Price Quotation (RPQ) and associated project documents for the detail Scope of Work
