Site work and paving for a road / highway in Eielson AFB, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This project requires the delivery of a complete and accurate design package for the repair of Arctic Avenue from Central Avenue (including McKinley Street) to Ravens Way, and for the repaving and striping of the CHPP parking lot. The design must address drainage issues caused by low road elevations and insufficient culverts, pavement deterioration, and hazardous materials. It must also improve bike accessibility and comply with all applicable federal, state, and Air Force regulations and standards. Sidewalks and bike paths are present along most of Arctic Avenue but are missing along McKinley Street. The CHPP parking lot surface has deteriorated significantly, with loose gravel accumulating. The selected A&E firm must deliver 65% and 95% design documents within 365 calendar days and is expected to minimize life-cycle costs while maximizing long-term infrastructure performance. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
