Site work and paving for a civil project in Weathersfield, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The Town of Weathersfield invites qualified bids for the installation of a road culvert on Weathersfield Center Road. The existing culvert is rotted, undersized, and has poor alignment. The purpose of this project is to upsize the culvert and realign. Description of Work 1 Traffic Control/flagging: The contractor shall install a construction sign package conforming to the MUTCD Standards for any road closure or 1 lane road work. There shall be minimum seven (7) days' notice before any road closures and complete sign package following MUTCD standards. 2 Removal of Pavement: The existing pavement shown on the plan shall be loaded into town trucks to be disposed of by the Town. 3 Installation of 71" x 47" x 70' pipe: The Town will deliver the pipe to the site. It will consist of a 24' section, 24' section and 22' section with bands. Any excavation spoils shall be loaded onto Town trucks to be disposed of by the Town. The contractor shall bed the pipe with 1" crushed gravel a distance of half way up the pipe (supplied/trucked to the site by the Town). The remaining backfill up to a distance of 2'4" below pavement shall be existing material from the excavation, providing stones no larger than 3" are placed against the side of the culvert. 4 Waste block headwalls: Four waste block headwalls shall be installed on each end of the pipe. Two on each side of the pipe (inlet and outlet) - 8 total. The bottom block shall be installed equal to the bottom of the culvert. 5 8" Ditch stone (Town to provide): This material shall be placed in the following locations: o Against the waste blocks. o In the ditch from the outlet of the pipe The Town will provide this material to the contractor when they are ready with a 1 days' notice. Page 4 of 7 6 Gravel Base: The contractor shall place 24" of 1"- crushed gravel under the pavement. This gravel shall be supplied/trucked to the site by the Town. This is estimated at 1000 SF x 2'/27 = 74 CY compacted in place (90 CY loose). The gravel base shall be compacted to modified proctor with water applied as needed. 7 Asphalt Pavement: The road/driveway shall be paved as follows: o 2.5" Type 2S pavement (15 ton) o 1.5" type 3S pavement (10 ton) Pavement shall be compacted to 95% 8 Seed and Mulch: The Town crew will hydro seed all disturbed areas. 9 Mobilization/Demobilization: This line item is inclusive of insurances and is subsidiary to the contract. 10 Cleanup: The contractor shall leave the site free of piles, debris, rutting, trash, etc. 11 Left Blank 12 Left Blank.
