The Town of Weathersfield, VT is accepting bids from contractors to restore the slope at the culvert on Bowen Hill Road/Roberts Road intersection. BIDDER hereby proposes to perform all work in accordance with the attached Scope of Work, General Construction Notes and Requirements for a lump sum price. Unit prices are listed below for the sole purpose of possible change orders resulting from added work or locations where the contractor can demonstrate difference in quantities. Description of Work 1 Traffic Control/flagging: The contractor shall install a construction sign package conforming to the MUTCD Standards. 2 Excavator: This item is for preparation and placement of material. 3 Tree removal/access road: Trees to be removed shall be kept to a minimum. The contractor shall provide a temporary road with an adequate gravel surface for the Town trucks to haul in and out with material. 4 7 to 8 Ditch stone (Town to provide): This material shall be placed in the following locations: Against the existing culvert prior to any excavation in close proximity to the culvert. In the 4 ditch along the access road upon completion of the slope repair The Town will provide this material to the contractor down the access road. The Town will also bring in some finer stone/gravel to work in as needed against the pipe. 5 Mirafi 140Nfilter fabric: The contractor shall place filter fabric between the 7/8 ditch stone and the side of the trench as well as holding the ditch stone in from eroding away past the end of the pipe. 6 Granular fill: The contractor shall place granular backfill against the 140N filter fabric up to a distance of 2 from the top of the washout. The Town will provide and haul this material to the site. 7 12- Rip Rap: This material shall be placed on top of the granular fill to a depth of 2 +/-. The Town will provide and haul this material to the site. 8 Grubbing: 6 +/- of Grubbing material shall be installed over the 12 - rip rap with most of it being worked down into the rip rap. The Town will provide and haul this material to the site. 9 Jute Matting: The contractor shall purchase and install jute matting over the eroded repaired section and the toe of the slope on the East side of the culvert in disturbed locations. 10 Seed and Mulch: The Town crew will hydro seed all disturbed areas. 11 Mobilization/Demobilization: This line item is inclusive of insurances and is subsidiary to the contract. 12 Cleanup: The contractor shall leave the site free of piles, debris, rutting, trash, etc. All inquiries regarding this RFB are to be directed in writing or by email to the following person: Ray Stapleton, Highway@weathersfield.org Information obtained from any other source is not official and should not be relied upon.
