Site work and paving for a road / highway in Butte, Montana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is accepting bids for Overlay and Chip Seal Frontage Road Rocker to W of Ramsay-Nissler Road Butte Area. Each bid/proposal with a total cost of $150,000 or greater must be accompanied by a bid proposal security based upon 10% of the total bid/offer. Bidders must upload and submit Bid Security, as described in Prerequisites, with their bid submission Questions or information relating to either specifications or requirements of this solicitation must be asked through the eMACS Q&A Board. Potential bidders must log into eMACS to submit a question on the Q&A Board. Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals and traffic control necessary to produce, haul, place, tack and compact approximately 6,500 tons of 3/4 " Commercial Plant Mix Grade S 64-28asphalt mix material. The overlay shall be paved .15 feet thick and approximately 24 feet wide. Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, traffic control and incidentals necessary to mill approximately 3,260 square yards of asphalt to a depth of .15 feet. Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, traffic control and incidentals necessary to produce, haul, place, roll and broom approximately 60,049 square yards of laid-in-place chip seal. The chip seal will be approximately 4.62 miles long and 24 feet wide. Contractor shall provide CHFRS-2P asphalt emulsion and Type 1 chips. Traffic control with pilot cars must be maintained until dusk or fading light each work day as determined by the Project Manager. The emulsion application rate for chip seals is estimated at .44 gallons per square yard. The cover material application rate is estimated at 25 pounds per square yard. Actual application rates will be based on the chip design and the actual field adjustments. If the cover material application rate of 25 pounds per square yard is not sufficient to provide a quality job, the Project Managers will jointly determine what the new application rate should be. Contractor must furnish a water truck for dust control and wetting of chips. Arrangements must be made by the Contractor for acquiring water for wetting and sweeping. Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, traffic control and incidentals necessary to remove 2,030 feet of old in place guardrail and replace with approximately 2,030 feet of new W Beam guardrail and eight Mash W Beam Terminal End Sections. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine the centerline and place reflective tabs prior to the chip seal. Contractor will be responsible for waterborne temporary and interim striping and epoxy final striping. Contractor is responsible for test trailer, transport, and setup. If the Department decides to perform testing at an area lab, this bid item will be deleted from the contract. The quantity is estimated and will be changed accordingly depending on pickup and delivery locations and miles transported. Contractor shall be responsible for all private property damage claims resulting from performance of the tasks described above.
