The County of Santa Clara (County) desires to retain the services of construction project management firm(s) ("Consultant(s)") to provide professional construction project management services for the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Emergency Department Expansion and Remodel Project ("Project"). The Project expands the Emergency Department 1st floor and basement support space by 28,560 square feet and remodels existing 21,122 square feet. The Project approximately doubles the number of existing beds. Additionally, the Project increases treatment/exam rooms from 13 to 44, provides a larger waiting room, adds 6 new rapid medical evaluation (RME) stations for a total of 8. Subject to further input from the construction contractor regarding its means and methods, the Project presently anticipates being constructed in multiple phases to maintain the operations of the Emergency Department (ED) during construction. Design and construction of the Project is under the jurisdiction of California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAi) as an OSHPD 1 hospital building.
