This November, voters will decide on a proposed $5.7 million capital improvement bond aimed at upgrading the city's park and recreation facilities, many of which have not been updated since the 1980s. Mayor Cain Nattin emphasized the importance of modernizing these facilities, stating, "A place where all are welcome, a place that's modernized, you know the current building we're in doesn't have AC." The proposed renovations include making the facilities ADA compliant, updating tennis courts, the pool, and walking trails, adding new LED lighting at ball fields, two more pickleball courts, and an indoor walking path. Importantly, these improvements would be made without raising taxes, as Nattin explained, "You're already paying that 1% sales tax, let's put that money to use." Community member Larry Edwards expressed support for the upgrades, saying, "I think any improvement we can make to that or expand on it are good for our community."
