The Village of Lake Isabella is accepting proposals for the replacement of the community welcome sign and message board located at the Village's Department of Public Works facility at 201 S. Coldwater Road. The successful bidder will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and testing of the new sign. The new sign will feature a programmable digital display, facing south, not to exceed 24 square feet, preferably either 6' x 4' or 7' x 3'. The Village's DPW property is at the entrance to the community along Coldwater Road. Since acquiring the property, the Village has utilized a 10' x 5' ground sign with a marquee featuring the ability for two lines of text using 9" letters. To meet growing community needs, the Village desires to replace this sign with a new ground sign with a digital display that can be remotely programmed to display multiple messages. A web-based interface is preferred to allow programming to be done independently of the sign. The current sign is roughly 50 feet from the edge of the pavement along Coldwater Road. The current sign is illuminated with ground lighting that runs underneath the driveway. It is anticipated that this electrical line will be utilized to provide power to the new sign, as it is desired for the new sign to sit in roughly the same location as the existing sign. The Village will coordinate with a successful bidder for our DPW staff to remove the existing sign once work is slated to begin at the site. Several photos are included in the RFP showing the current sign, location map, and examples of the preferred style of the new sign. Ideally, the new sign should be roughly the same size as the existing sign, as it is intended for the new sign to be close to the same location at the entrance to the Village's DPW facility. Proposals will be evaluated by the Lake Isabella Village Council. It is important that the responses be clear and complete so that the evaluators can adequately understand all aspects of the proposal. A successful award shall consist of acceptance of a proposal and a written purchase order by the Village of Lake Isabella.
