MPC Emergency Lighting Replacement Project Monterey Peninsula College, 980 Fremont Street, Monterey, CA 93940 This renovation is projected to be in construction from October 2025 through February 2026. Scope of work consists of: Upgrade and replacement of emergency lighting systems across 14 buildings on the Monterey Peninsula College campus. The intent is to ensure all emergency egress areas and critical systems have compliant, fully functional, and code-aligned backup lighting. All questions about the project should be submitted online MPC Governing Board approval is tentatively scheduled for October 29, 2025. Pursuant to the Contract Documents, the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. Art Ceramics c. Art Studio d. Business, Math & Computer Science e. Facilities f. Fitness Center g. Gymnasium h. Humanities i. Life Science j. Pool k. Physical Science l. Student Center m. Student Services n. Theatre 2. The Contractor shall be responsible for scheduling and coordinating the work with the MPC Staff, Representatives, and contractors on other MPC projects working concurrent with this project. Reference paragraph 1.04 of this section. 3. The work to be done includes all labor, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install all materials and equipment shown on the drawings and described herein and to perform tests described herein, to provide complete and operating systems to the extent specified and shown on the drawings. The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, material and supplies, except where specifically noted as existing or supplied by the District. 4. Work includes the following scope items: a. Survey and Verification i. Field-verify all existing emergency lighting locations in 14 buildings b. Demolition & Removal i. Safely de-energize and remove existing non-compliant emergency lighting fixtures and battery packs. ii. Dispose of removed components in accordance with e-waste and environmental regulations. c. Installation i. Install new emergency lighting fixtures, battery backup units, and/or integrated systems per current code (NFPA 101 / Title 24), as shown on as-builts. ii. Connect units to designated emergency circuits or standby power sources. d. Testing & Commissioning i. Conduct functional tests per code to confirm operation during simulated power outage. ii. Provide punch list corrections and re-testing as needed. iii. Submit all test logs to MPC Facilities for records e. Documentation & Turnover i. Provide updated as-builts of emergency lighting locations and circuiting. ii. Submit cut sheets, warranties, maintenance instructions, and compliance.
