The Town of Hancock invites the submittal of responses to this Request for Proposals from qualified firms/contractors/vendors interested in providing mowing and landscape maintenance services at various locations within Town boundaries. This Request for Proposals is being released to ensure ongoing services with respect to the responsible use of tax dollars. The Town's elected officials will participate in the process of selecting the appropriate firm/contractor per the Town Charter. The Town of Hancock reserves the right to allow for clarification of questionable entries and for the correction of obvious mistakes or missed information, to reject submittals containing any additional terms or conditions not specifically requested in the original Scope of Work, to reject any or all proposals, and waive informalities as may be deemed in the best interest of the Town. The Town of Hancock (Town) is seeking proposals from qualified firms/contractors/vendors to provide comprehensive mowing and weed trimming services for properties within the Town found to be in violation of Section 406 of the Code of Ordinances. Our goal is to maintain the aesthetic appeal and safety of our Town. The Town intends to consider firms/contractors who possess the professional and administrative capabilities to provide the scope of services detailed herein. The Town of Hancock, a Maryland municipal corporation, herein referred to as the "Town", requests bids from qualified firm/contractor/vendor to fulfill the Town's requirements for mowing grass, trimming and minor landscaping services of properties found to be in Violation of the Hancock Code of Ordinances, Section 406. The scope of work is to completely mow all identified Town Properties in Violation upon order of the Town Manager or Town Clerk and trim around equipment, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, fences and buildings, shrubbery, trees, poles, etc., unless otherwise noted. Remove all grass/weed clippings and debris. Report any damage or issues observed during service. The growing season is defined as being the months of April to November each calendar year. The Town may require additional services dependent on weather and other factors and will utilize the unit price if additional services are required. All additional service sessions must be duly authorized in advance by the Town. Payment will only be made for mowing actually performed even in the event of extreme weather conditions, such as drought or excessive rainfall, cause or prevent the areas from being serviced. The first and last service date will be determined by the Town Manager. There may be two-(2), one year extension options to renew by mutual consent of both parties. This contract will be awarded for a one-(1) year period during the Town of Hancock's 2026 calendar year with two-(2) potential one-year period extensions. The contract will be reviewed annually by the Mayor and Council. Any price changes will be submitted by January 1 of the following year for review and approval by the Mayor and Council.
