This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in St. John's, Newfoundland. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
Closing Time: 3:00 PM (NT) ** Please note that there has been 4 addendum issued for this project.** Question Acceptance Deadline: 2025/09/29 03:00:00 PM NDT The work shall include the supplying of all labour, materials, equipment and services necessary for the execution and completion to the Regional Director's satisfaction, for the price tendered of all the work described in Sections A, B and C of these specifications and below. 1 Snow Clearing 1 The contractor shall clear all snow from all parking lots, parking lot entrances, on site roadways, access roadways, turning areas, loading areas, fire lanes and asphalt surfaces. 2 Snow clearing must commence whenever there is an accumulation of 50mm (2") or more of snow or when wind conditions cause drifting to such a degree that it impedes the smooth flow of traffic. The contractor must visit the site every day by 6:00 am to make sure there will be no impediment to the flow of traffic. The contractor shall sign in at the buildings that have security personnel onsite and liaise with the director's representative prior to leaving the site. 3 When overnight snowfalls or drifting occurs to such a degree to warrant snow clearing, then all areas are to be cleared not later than 07:00 hours. This will be strictly enforced unless a snowstorm is in progress and endangers the life or safety of equipment operators. 4 Fire lanes must be kept open at all times. 5 The contractor must plow snow to the extremities and beyond where approved by the Director, of all the areas being cleared in order to utilize all the on-site storage space to its maximum. No stockpiling of snow will be permitted so as to impede traffic flow or decrease the allocated number of parking stalls. Curbs must be visible at all times. .6 Snow shall be cleared in such a manner to avoid leaving a buildup of any snow or ice. Any such buildup of snow or ice left is to be removed at no cost to the owner. 7 It is recommended that de-icing with salt of walking areas take place prior to snow or freezing precipitation falling when such weather conditions are predicted that could cause icing of hard surfaces and result in slippery conditions. .8Should a snowfall occur after the normal business hours on a Friday and prior to normal business opening on Monday morning, the contractor must still commence snow clearing as soon as possible and not delay snow clearing or ice control due to it being a weekend or there being an upcoming holiday. If the contractor delays either snow clearing or ice control such that it makes for unsatisfactory snow or ice conditions or accumulation on the lots the contractor shall be expected to take all necessary action to have the parking lots returned to suitable conditions, without delay. If the owner deems the contractor's response and performance to be unsatisfactory in these circumstances the owner may direct the contractor to deploy all or specific minimum required equipment cited elsewhere in this Section D to the site, to commence clearing and/or ice control within 2 hours. Failure to respond in accordance with this directive may result in the issuance of a notification under GC10 Owner's Right to Terminate Contract due to a failure to proceed diligently with the Work. 9It is recommended that de-icing with salt of walking areas take place prior to snow or freezing precipitation falling when such weather conditions are predicted that could cause icing of hard surfaces and result in slippery conditions.
