Demolition, site work and renovation of an educational facility in Tinley Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The Project is divided into multiple prime contracts. This Section includes a summary of each contract, including responsibilities for coordination and temporary facilities and controls. Summaries are guidelines only, intended to assist Bidders in developing their Bid. Additional work may be required for a complete project that may become evident by a thorough review and analysis of the Bidding Documents. If additional information or clarification is required, contact the Construction Manager. All questions or RFIs regarding bid documents must be submitted in writing no later than Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. The work is composed of the renovation of an existing building, including demolition, general trades, mechanical, electrical, fire suppression and plumbing work. Work to begin in January, 2026. Bids will be on a lump sum basis. Bidders shall examine the bid documents and also the locations in which said work is to be performed and judge for themselves all the circumstances and surrounding conditions affecting the cost and nature of the work, and all bids shall be presumed to be based on such examination, familiarity, and judgment. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or bank cashier's check on a solvent bank or trust company, or an acceptable Bid Bond in the amount of not less than 10 Percent of the total bid. This sum is a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured. Each Bid must be accompanied by Certificate of Eligibility to Bid certifying that the Bidder is not barred from contracting with a unit of State or local government as a result of a violation of 720 ILCS 5/33-E-3 and 33E-4 as amended or a conviction for bribing or attempting to bribe an officer or employee of the State of Illinois. To the extent required by law, the Bidder shall comply with the provisions as indicated in the Instruction to Bidders. A 100-percent Performance Bond and Labor/Material Bond will be required of the successful bidder written by a surety in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders. Bremen Community High School District 228 reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or to waive informalities and to accept the bid which it deems most favorable to its interests after all bids have been examined and thoroughly reviewed.
