Renovation of an educational facility in Morganton, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The purpose of this project is to replace the existing chiller that provides the heating / cooling for Phifer Hall, which has become outdated and inefficient. This project is located on the campus of Western Piedmont Community College (1001 Burkemont Ave, Morganton, NC 28655) The Scope of Work consist of: To replace current 160-ton chiller with like or same capacity chiller with following: 1. Adding new rental tap connections with proper valving 2. Replacing current butterfly valves with new 3. Re-use current concrete pads, any additional concrete is in contract 4. Provide all new closed cell elastomeric insulation with aluminum jacket covering 5. Replace heat tracer line with new 6. Connect and establish controls to existing Johnson Controls Facility Explorer with graphics 7. Replace any and all pressure and temperature gauges with new 8. All refrigerate removed from current chiller and once removed, remain on site for demo by WPCC 9. Provide louvered panels on new chiller 10. All Electrical work is in contract 11. Provide warranty information and annual service PM quote for chiller (that is in combination/coordination with the warranty) Questions may be submitted to Sandy Hoilman, shoilman@wpcc.edu by September 22, 2025 with answers and any amendments will be submitted to interested bidders by September 26, 2025. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
